Coming together from vastly different musical backgrounds, each band member of Ashes adds their own flare to the group, creating a colorful musical ensemble that cannot be tagged to just one genre. Centered on the backbone of acoustic guitar, the sound builds from there with the addition of percussion, piano, cello, banjo, mandolin, and bass. The strong instrumental basis is met by a powerful lyrical collection that seeks to personally involve the feelings of the listeners. Ashes' music stems from the love of those who influence their lives every day. The music they play is affected more by the people who inspire them than the music they listen to. The band aims to create a connection with the audience and provide a live performance that begs to be experienced, not just observed.
Genre: Hardcore | Metal
At No End rose from the streets of Cleveland in January 2004 with the meeting of Jack Sabolich (vocals) and Tommy Packard (guitar) through a mutual friend. During that first meeting the vision for the band was set; create a unique brand of metal laced with rhythmic hooks and a hardcore work ethic, mentality, and attitude. That vision helped them to rise within both the Cleveland hardcore and metal scenes and foster a reputation as one of the hardest working bands on the scene. The intensity of the music along with the high-energy live performances earned them opening slots for many of the metal and hardcore greats from all over the globe. After just three short months of shows at such legendary Cleveland venues like Peabody’s Downunder, The Cleveland Agora, and The Plain Dealer Pavilion, At No End caught the eye of Steve Felton (aka Skinny) from Mushroomhead who agreed to record a 5-song demo for them. In June of 2004, At No End entered Filthy Hands Studios to lay down five tracks that would pave the way for what was to come.
Genre: Pop | Rock
Relient K’s former drummer Dave Douglas blazed a new trail for himself when he started ATTACK CAT, the power-pop/rock, two-person project with singer Rachel Hoskins. The Plain Dealer calls ATTACK CAT a “catchy blend of pile-driving, modern guitar rock” that puts its own stamp on the music, adding “a gritty, indie-rock vibe to its potent power-pop mix.” In the land of garage band, DIY projects, ATTACK CAT takes self-production seriously. Recording their tracks from an attic in Cleveland, OH, the resulting sound is anything but DIY. “Our goal is to make excellent music—And stay true to our mantra: ‘Shoot from the Hip,’” says Douglas. It’s a do, or die, follow-your-gut mainstay that serves them well. “Great music is all about instinct and conflict,” says Hoskins. “We’re a duo, so there’s an intrinsic battle that goes along with that, onstage and off. It’s written into our band DNA.”
Genre: Rock | Progressive | Metal
In the Oct. 2006 issue of Metal Edge magazine; "Rock on the Rise," they are featured because of their headlining performance at the Cleveland Music Festival, CMJ'06. "their harmonies and melodies are captivating, and their live show is great! In addition to a set list filled of original songs, Audiblethread delivered the single greatest song performance of the weekend, a cover of Nine Inch Nails’ “Something I Can Never Have"--Andrew Gargano. Along with that honor, they have been a featured act by Pabst Blue Ribbon, local talent promotions, and a nominee for Best Metal/Hard Rock act for the Scene Magazine and House of Blues Music Awards 2006 in Cleveland.
