Band

Pay to play is unacceptable. Maybe these club owners need to start there own bands and then see if they can find some guys or gals to play in that band that want to spend money to perform in their bar.

This is about owners being cheapskates and it is also about owners feeding on the fact that many first time or young bands are nieve to their ways.

Having been in bands on and off for 25 years I have seen a lot. Not everything! but alot!
I come across young garage bands all the time talking about how they are playing a bunch of shows and put all this work and effort into it. Then you ask them, did you make any jack for your efforts. They reply , "oh no but the Club owner said if we keep working he might be able to throw us some free drinks and even a little cash someday"
How sad.... but this is who the seedy club owners prey on.
Some of the egos I have ran into from little club owners over the years have rivaled that of world famous bands. It's quite a sight to see sometimes.

Anyway, let the bars go back to dj's and karaoke if all they want to do is rip off hard working bands!
