I agree. The problem with this industry now is that artist are not allowed to just be artist. Now they got to be a and r's, promoters, and everything else plus make the music. I am old school also i guess but the industry has gotten lazy and wants to capitolize on these artist an wants to put in nothing to get something. They are way too greedy an don't respect the culture of any genre of music period. These pay to play situations make me sick an I participated in it once an I will never do it again. They always promise somone from some label will be there an all you do is get contacts from people in the same position you are in. So my advice to give and which i am following myself is.....MAKE UNDENIABLE MUSIC!!!!!!!

I Agree-Make Great Music
by: Anonymous

The Record industury just isn't there for the bands. They put out what a lot of people don't want to hear. If you turn on the radio, you have a lot of talk shows. If its not a talk show, then they are playing music from the 80s and 90s. I think if you make great music, you will be heard. Things spread quickly on the internet. Also, bands today need to remember that if they want their music played on the radio, MAKE IT RADIO FRIENDLY. I hate to listen to a song on the radio when every other word is being BEEPED out. It ruins the song. Example Buck Cherry - Crazy Bitch. It hard to listen to. I can't even play their CD in the car because of the kids. That is why the bands in the 80s and 90s are still being played today. The got the same message acrossed with out the profanity. They let your mind play the picture.
